Table of Contents

Focused on administrative efficiency, advanced bot handling, and enhanced banner preview capabilities.

Here’s what’s new in Pandectes v5.2.0:

Highlights

  • Sharable Live In-Store Preview: Introduced a powerful new preview mode that allows you to see banner changes live on your store without saving settings. This preview generates a shareable link so multiple stakeholders can review the UI/UX across different devices instantly.
  • Web Accessibility Tool: Integrated a new accessibility suite to help merchants ensure their store follows ADA/WCAG standards, making compliance inclusive for all users.

New Features

  • Expanded US Privacy Law Support: Extended our regional compliance engine to support Florida (FLDBOR) and Maryland (MODPA), ensuring merchants stay ahead of the evolving US state privacy landscape.
  • Global Regulation Coverage: Added dedicated support for key international markets, including:
    • Singapore: PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act)
    • Hong Kong: PDPO (Personal Data Protection Ordinance)
    • United Arab Emirates: PDPL (Personal Data Protection Law)
  • Advanced Bot & Crawler Handling: Added a toggle to disable the banner for known search engine bots and crawlers. When enabled, the app automatically allows cookies for these agents to ensure SEO indexing is never interrupted.
  • Dynamic Consent Signaling: Upon consent reset or expiration, the app now automatically sends a signal to Shopify to re-apply default privacy preferences based on the specific store region.
  • Separated Escape-on-Close Logic: Refined the “Enforced Consent” mode by separating the “Escape on Close” functionality, providing more granular control over how users interact with the banner before consenting.

Improvements

  • Automated Geolocation Detection: Improved the new banner’s language switching logic to automatically detect and apply the user’s language based on their geographic location.
  • Intelligent Bot Visibility: Optimized script behavior to only write consent strings for bots if the banner is explicitly set to be visible, reducing unnecessary script execution.
  • URL-Based Banner Logic: Enhanced the startHidden rule tracking to ensure the banner accurately follows URL-specific rules, automatically closing an active banner if the user navigates to a “hidden” URL path.

Fixes

Preview State Persistence: Resolved an issue where switching flow modes or discarding changes would occasionally cause the preview window to disappear.

UI Layout Consistency: Fixed floating alignment and dropdown menu behavior for dialogs inside the app dashboard when toggling between mobile and desktop settings.

  • Banner Reopen Logic: * Ensured the “Reopen” button in the status window maintains a secondary style for better visual hierarchy.
    • Fixed a bug where reopening the banner after “Accept All” would not show all checkboxes as checked.
    • Standardized the startHidden rule to only respect the hidden state until the user first interacts with the banner.

Dashboard Optimization: Patched a React hydration error on the main dashboard and corrected padding issues within the language selection list.

Basic Plan Performance: Optimized loading sequences for Basic plans by removing the wait-time for the PandectesRules object, resulting in faster banner initialization.
