Shopify is committed to keeping the Shopify App Store a reliable and trustworthy marketplace, and ensuring that merchants can feel confident in the apps they use. Decisions to terminate app partnerships are carefully considered and made when they are confident that the apps cannot meet their standards for quality and merchant experience, or are not able to comply with the policies in place for maintaining merchant experience, trust, and reliability. This is something that Shopify tries to work on lately because from our experience there were some bad examples in the store.
After their review process and without giving to the public specific reasons leading to the termination of these apps, they announced on April 16, 2021, that these apps were terminated for violations of their Acceptable Use Policy and their Partner Program Agreement. So these Shopify apps will be removed from the Shopify store on June 16th, 2021.
The important part is what merchants can do to replace these apps and what are the best alternatives for them. Luckily Shopify reviewed the store and created a post and listed there the apps that are alternative suggestions to the apps they plan to remove.

Uninstalling Apps
For stores that still have these apps and will not uninstall them manually, the Shopify team will automatically uninstall the apps on June 16th, 2021. The best way is to uninstall them manually in order to have control and at the same time replace them with one of the selected alternatives to avoid interruption by following the instructions below.
You can remove an app from your store from the Apps section of your Shopify admin:
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps.
- Locate the app you want to uninstall, then click the word “Remove” next to the app:
- Click Delete.
Uninstalling Apps from Mobile
- From the Shopify app, tap Store, and then tap Apps.
- On iOS, swipe an app left to show a Remove button beside it. On an Android device, tap the ⋮ button beside the name of the app.
- Tap Remove.
- If you’re sure that you want to remove the app, then tap Delete to confirm.

App Store Quality

In some cases, Shopify temporarily removes apps from the Shopify App Store until the developer can adequately fix the problem.
