Google’s New CMP Requirements

Publishers located within the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK are required to employ a Google-certified CMP for ad serving.
CMPs that achieve Google certification are evaluated based on criteria that primarily emphasize adherence to the Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF).
Publishers utilizing the TCF, who also engage with ad technology providers not affiliated with the TCF, receive support from Google via the Additional Consent specification.
Google ensures that CMPs capable of supporting the Additional Consent specification are properly implementing it through its CMP assessments.

To assist publishers and developers in making these adjustments, Google has published a list of CMPs that have been certified as compliant with its requirements.

Starting in March 2024, Google has mandated using Consent Mode to access measurement, ad personalization, and remarketing features for users in the European Economic Area and the UK. Pandectes supports Google Consent Mode both in Basic and in Advanced implementation.

Beginning January 16, 2024, all advertisers using Google AdSense, AdManager, or AdMob must employ a Google-certified CMP. Fulfilling Google’s requirement means more than just compliance with Google; it involves adhering to a well-regarded framework that ensures data is processed in a compliant and transparent way.
