Amazon Consent Signal for Shopify
Amazon Ads needs a valid consent signal for visitors in the UK and the EEA. Pandectes sends it through the Amazon Consent Signal (ACS), from the same cookie banner, so your Amazon campaigns follow each visitor's choice and keep working. Read the setup guide.

How it works
Turn on the integration
In the app, open Settings, then Integrations, enable Amazon Consent Signal and save.
The banner sets the signal
ACS carries two signals, amzn_user_data and amzn_ad_storage. Both follow your Marketing category: granted when a visitor accepts marketing cookies, denied when they decline.
Amazon reads it
The signal and the visitor's country code are kept in a first-party cookie, amzn_consent, which Amazon Ads reads before it uses data for ads.

- Mapped to the Marketing category, with nothing else to configure.
- A country code with every signal, from the visitor's location.
- Works with Amazon Ads, Amazon DSP and Amazon Marketing Cloud.
- Keeps conversion measurement and attribution working for visitors who consent.
- Runs alongside Google Consent Mode and Microsoft Consent Mode.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Amazon Consent Signal?
It is Amazon's way for advertisers to pass their visitors' privacy choices to Amazon Ads services, including Amazon DSP and Amazon Marketing Cloud. It works much like Google Consent Mode: one signal says whether Amazon may use personal data for ads, the other whether it may store advertising cookies.
Who needs it?
Advertisers who share visitor data with Amazon Ads, through a pixel or conversion tracking, and who reach visitors in the UK or the EEA. Amazon expects a consent signal for those visitors, and campaigns without one can lose measurement and reach.
What happens when a visitor declines?
Both signals are set to denied, so Amazon does not use that visitor's personal data or advertising cookies for ads. When the visitor accepts marketing cookies, both are set to granted.
How do I check that it works?
Open your store in a private window, accept marketing cookies, and look for the amzn_consent cookie in your browser's developer tools. Decoded, it shows amznAdStorage and amznUserData as GRANTED, with a country code. A VPN changes the country code to the VPN's location.
Can a firewall block the signal?
Yes. Some strict web application firewalls remove the amzn_consent cookie because of its format. If yours does, allow the cookie in the firewall rules.
