Rakuten Advertising integration for Shopify
Rakuten Advertising asks for a consent signal before it tracks your affiliate traffic. Pandectes sets Rakuten's consent values from your cookie banner, for visitors in the EU and the UK and for US privacy laws, so conversions are attributed only with consent. Read the setup guide.
How it works
Turn on the integration
In the app, open Integrations, enable Rakuten Advertising and save.
Choose your signals
Select __rmcp2 for consent from visitors in the EU and the UK, and __rmuspc for the US "Do Not Sell or Share" choice under CCPA and CPRA.
Consent updates Rakuten
Until a visitor accepts marketing cookies, Rakuten tracking stays restricted. When they accept, Pandectes updates the values straight away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Rakuten need a consent signal?
Without one, conversions may go unattributed, tracking visitors in the EEA and the UK without consent is a legal risk, and Rakuten increasingly expects its advertisers to use a consent management platform.
Which signal do I need?
__rmcp2 if you have visitors in the EU or the UK, __rmuspc if you sell to customers in the US, and both if you do both.
How do I check that it works?
Open your store in a private window and look at its cookies in your browser's developer tools. Before you accept, the Rakuten values are missing or denied. After you accept marketing cookies, __rmcp2 shows consent as granted.
Which plans include it?
The Rakuten Advertising integration is included in the Plus plan and above. See the plans.
Where is the step-by-step guide?
